The Meah Foundation
At the Meah Foundation we believe in the power of stories to change lives and bring about important transformations in the lives of individuals, our communities and the planet.
Through stories, The Meah Foundation seeks to raise awareness of people’s experiences, particularly of how people suffer and overcome, transforming their pain into healing and wisdom, and ultimately into hope.
The Meah Foundation, based in Nassau, Bahamas, raises money to enable dynamic individuals and speakers to make their stories heard, to fund creative writing workshops that empower youth to tell their own stories, and to fund exchange programs which encourage people to visit communities outside their countries so that stories may be shared across national and international borders. Through our existing projects, that support communities in becoming self sustaining, old stories are changed giving individuals and communities hope that new stories and realities are possible.
“I am concerned that a single story can take an entire community to the ground, and so children especially need to be told new stories and need to be exposed to the stories and people of different backgrounds so that they gain an appreciation and respect for difference.” ~ Tina Klonaris-Robinson
